A big part of the holiday fun is the preparation. Food is a tremendous factor in the prep. The shopping for ingredients, the cooking and baking, setting a beautiful table for a festive meal and of course partaking in the party, all lend itself to family time. Spending all that time with family and friends makes for wonderful memories. The kitchen is a great place for bonding. Your tubie can actively participate in all the food preparation and will not feel bad that he will not partake in the eating. Think of adults who cook and bake foods and confections that they themselves will not eat. There is goodwill anyways. As a matter of fact, the highlight of this all does not have to be the actual eating. The memories of the fun times spent cooking and baking will last longer than the actual meal.
